Logan Art Gallery is delighted to present The Castle of Tarragindi by Natalya Hughes a Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) regional touring project for children and families. This free interactive program will coincide with the QAGOMA Children’s Art Centre program ‘The Castle of Tarragindi’ enabling Queensland communities to enjoy key elements of the program at their local venue.
‘The Castle of Tarragindi on Tour’ will feature activities developed by the Children’s Art Centre in collaboration with Australian artist Natalya Hughes. In her work, Hughes creates paintings, textiles, sculptures, and installations informed by decorative and ornamental traditions.
In ‘The Castle of Tarragindi on Tour’, Hughes will invite children and families to explore the decorative artform of the ‘grotesque’ through various hands-on and drawing activities, including creating a hybrid creature using imagery designed by the artist.
