Amplify Battle of the Bands 2026

Amplify Battle of the Bands is back by popular demand! With a panel of music industry judges and great prizes up for grabs, school bands will go head-to-head for their shot at being crowned Amplify’s ‘Band of the Year’.

Expressions of interest have now closed, and we’ve got 12 bands locked in and ready to bring the noise. Featuring students from Marsden State High School, Stretton College, Rivermount College, St Thomas More College, John Paul College and Trinity College Beenleigh – get behind your favourites, rep your school, and bring your mates.

Guiding the night is returning MC Terry Hansen, with performances judged by an expert panel featuring Hanni, Erik Williamson and Nat Lingwoodock.

The winner of Amplify will receive a $660 recording studio voucher from Alchemix Studios.
Runner-up prizes of $300 for second place and $200 for third place, proudly supported by The Music Spot, will also be awarded.
These prizes will help emerging artists continue developing their talent and passion for music.

Meet the Judges

HANNI

Brisbane-based singer-songwriter and producer HANNI creates dreamy alt-pop infused with raw emotion, shimmering production and striking vulnerability. Her deeply personal songs explore heartbreak, healing and self-discovery, brought to life through haunting vocals and memorable melodies.

Erik Williamson

As a producer and engineer at Alchemix Studio, Erik Williamson has worked with a diverse range of artists and organisations across genres including indie rock, folk, jazz, synth-pop, ambient and classical music. Drawing inspiration from the production techniques of the 1960s and 70s, Erik combines vintage workflows with modern technology to create distinctive recordings while ensuring each artist’s unique voice remains at the centre of the process.

Nat Lingwoodock

Nat Lingwoodock (she/her) is a Kungarri, Birri, Kabi Kabi, Byellee and South Sea Island woman living on Kabi Kabi Country. With an extensive background in community engagement and advocacy across Queensland, Nat is a passionate supporter of music, theatre, festivals and the arts, and is dedicated to helping foster a strong and vibrant creative sector.
