Victory in the Pacific 80th Anniversary

Join us for a sit-down afternoon tea at Mayes Cottage to celebrate the 80-year anniversary of Victory in the Pacific Day in August 1945.

You’ll hear stories about the end of the war and enjoy some songs from the era performed by singer Dr Karen Lonsdale.

When peace was declared in August 1945 after 6 years of war, the residents of the Logan district celebrated. However, at Mayes Cottage, the event was tinged with sadness as a family member was not coming home.

Location: Mayes Cottage House Museum, 20 Mawarra Road, Kingston.

Time: 1PM – 3.30PM

$5 charge for afternoon tea.
