John Lane, Beenleigh Inaugural Exhibition In Motion

Artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for the inaugural exhibition, In Motion, at The Line & Rail Artspace, a new contemporary artspace located on John Lane, Beenleigh.

In Motion explores ideas of movement, transition, journey and exchange, concepts central to both the site and the ethos of The Line & Rail Artspace. The exhibition will bring together small‑scale works that reflect process, storytelling and the rhythms of everyday life.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to Logan‑based creatives.

Submission Requirements

Artists may submit:

  • Up to three (3) images of existing artworks
  • Artworks must be no larger than 100 × 100 cm (a metre square)
  • All 2D artworks must have appropriate D rings attached
  • All mediums considered

Please include:

  • Artist name
  • Artwork title(s), medium(s), dimensions and year
  • A brief 1-page artist CV
  • A short statement about the submitted work(s) or your interest in In Motion (optional)

The Line & Rail Artspace champions local stories, creative experimentation and accessible, place‑based artistic practice. We welcome submissions from emerging and established artists and encourage works that respond to place, movement and connection.

FAQ

How old do I need to be?
This is open to everyone; there is no age restriction.

How much does it cost to register?
This is a free community project; it costs nothing to participate. 

What do I need to provide
Image files for up to 3 photographs. We recommend image quality of 300dpi. All photo-files must be in jpeg format and not larger than 10MB.

How many photographs can I submit?
Three images per registration only.

* The exhibition will be on for at least 3 weeks, Thursday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. Please give a brief outline of the type of workshop you would run and when you would be available. Workshops would be for 2 hours and artists will receive a facilitator fee and cost of materials. You will be required to have Public Liability Insurance and a Blue Card if working with children.

1. I confirm my files have been named correctly using the following format: Last name_First name_Title_Year

2. I give Logan City Council permission to use my image to promote the exhibition.

3. I understand that I am the copyright owner of the artworks.

4. I agree to loan the use of these artworks for the purpose of the In Motion exhibition.

5. I agree that Logan City Council reserves the right to omit artworks deemed unsuitable to all members of its community.

6. I agree that I will be able to deliver my artwork/s on Thursday 16 April or Friday 17 April between 10 am and 3 pm.

7. I understand that my artwork/s may not be selected.
