All ages workshop: porcelain clay skulls with artist Christina Lowry
Join the Living Museum of Logan and artist Christina Lowry in this unique opportunity to contribute to an art installation that celebrates nature and community. On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, Christina Lowry will be hosting this FREE workshop where you can come and make porcelain clay skulls that will be part of a larger exhibition at the Kingston Arts Centre, Victoria.
This workshop is open to anyone; no experience is necessary! Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a first-time clay sculptor, this workshop is all about coming together to create something meaningful.
What is the workshop about?
Christina Lowry will guide you through making simplified bird skull forms from clay. These skulls will be part of a community art project that focuses on endangered and vulnerable bird species in our region. As an act of reciprocity with nature, each bird skull created will serve as a gesture of offering. Your hands will be a part of something larger—an art piece that aims to raise awareness and honour the wildlife around us.
Whether you want to make one skull or many, this is an opportunity for you to add your own voice to the piece and help make it truly special. All the tools and the clay you need will be provided.
Why participate?
This workshop is more than just making art. It’s about connecting with nature, community, and each other. Your contribution will be part of a larger project that will be displayed at the Kingston Art Centre and Wollongong Art Prize, where visitors will see how we’ve all come together to create something meaningful.
So, come along, make art, meet others, and help bring awareness to the beauty of our endangered bird species.
