Join celebrated curator, writer, artist and activist Djon Mundine OAM FAHA for a special curator’s talk and gain deeper insight into the exhibition Three echoes – Western Desert art.
This landmark exhibition showcases works by 57 acclaimed artists from the Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff), Papunya and Utopia Aboriginal communities in the Western Desert regions of the Northern Territory.
A proud Bandjalung man from the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, Mundine is widely recognised as a foundational figure in the development, criticism and exhibition of contemporary Aboriginal art. His distinguished career includes senior curatorial roles at major national and international institutions, including the National Museum of Australia (ACT), the Museum of Contemporary Art (NSW), the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and Campbelltown Arts Centre (NSW).
