Expressions of Interest for Logan Art Gallery exhibitions in 2027 will open soon.
Logan Art Gallery has two distinct exhibition opportunities in 2027:
- Gallery Exhibition (General) for individuals or groups that present significant developments in an artistic practice,
- Young Peoples Program for projects that engage and excite young people.
Gallery Exhibition (General)
EOIs are being sought for innovative, high-quality exhibitions that reflect the diversity, creativity, and cultural vibrancy of Logan.
This is an exciting opportunity for solo artists or groups to present work that develops their practice and engages Logan audiences. EOIs are welcome across all art forms and practices, from emerging to established artists.
We encourage applications from First Nations artists, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, artists with disability, LGBTQIA+ artists, and others who reflect the rich social fabric of Logan.
Selected proposals will receive industry-standard artwork loan fees.
Young People’s Program
Logan Art Gallery invites EOIs for exhibitions designed to engage and inspire young people — one of Logan’s most vital and dynamic communities.
This opportunity supports artists to expand their exhibition experience while developing work that resonates with youth audiences. We’re seeking bold, playful, and thought-provoking installations or artworks, fresh perspectives on the role of gallery spaces, and creative approaches to connecting with young audiences.
We welcome proposals from artists of all backgrounds, and strongly encourage submissions from artists whose work reflects the diversity of Logan’s youth.
Selected proposals will receive industry-standard artwork loan fees.
Selection Criteria – General Gallery Exhibition Opportunity
Applicants are encouraged to address the following criteria in their EOI:
- Artistic Merit
- Quality, originality, and innovation of the proposed work or concept.

- Practice Development
- How the exhibition will contribute to the development of the artist’s or group’s professional practice.

- Audience Engagement
- Potential to engage Logan audiences and reflect the city’s cultural diversity, creativity, and vibrancy.

- Feasibility
- Practicality of the proposal in terms of scale, budget, timeline, and use of gallery spaces.

- Support Needs
- Identification of curatorial, logistical, or funding support required to realise the exhibition.

Proposals need to address the following: relevance or engagement to the City of Logan; provide an engaging concept, theme or approach; have a clear description of what the exhibition might look like including details of its installation and technical requirements; and be supported by examples of previous work and a CV.
Applicants can submit up to 10 images that clearly represent their practice and the proposed exhibition.
Logan Art Gallery requires these images to be provided as a single PDF document. The Gallery has provided templates for you to use in PowerPoint, Word and PDF formats (see above), with instructions on how to complete them within the documents.
For moving image and other temporal media you will be required to provide a link to the work.
It is very important that artwork details for each image are present. Logan Art Gallery requires those details to include artist name, artwork title, year made, size or duration, medium, and photographer (if applicable).
NOTE: Attachments are limited to 32 MB, so please be mindful of your documents overall size. When importing images, you may need to resize them accordingly.
If you require assistance with your application or preparing your support material, please contact Logan Art Gallery Exhibition and Collections Officer Lizzie Walker on 07 3412 5228, or elizabethwalker@logan.qld.gov.au
Funding
Applicants may be eligible to receive support in the form of a Logan Council Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)

Application Strategies
To ensure your EOI is as strong as possible, please follow these key strategies:
- Read Carefully: Thoroughly review all guidelines and information provided in the application form.
- Prepare Thoughtfully: Draft your written responses in an editable document before transferring them into the application.
- Seek Feedback: Ask a trusted friend or arts professional to review your proposal to ensure clarity and alignment with Logan Art Gallery’s criteria.
- Start Early: Begin developing your proposal well in advance to allow time for refinement and reflection.
- Organise Support Material: Prepare your support documentation early. Images may need resizing and must be compiled into a single PDF (templates are available above).
- Credit Your Work: All images and videos must be properly credited using the following format:
Artist name, artwork title, year created, dimensions or duration, medium, and photographer (if applicable).
- Final Review: Re-read your application before submission to ensure all sections are complete.
Ideas and Concepts
The Concept section is your opportunity to communicate your artistic motivations and the relevance of your proposed exhibition to the City of Logan in 2027.
- Be clear and concise. The Gallery welcomes proposals from all creative practitioners aged 18 and over, but this section must be compelling and relevant.
- Demonstrate a record of professional practice or potential, showing your understanding of your work and your ability to communicate effectively. This helps assure the Gallery of your capacity to deliver a professional and timely exhibition.
- Use plain language. Avoid overly academic or technical terms. If successful, elements of your statement may be used for marketing and promotional purposes, so it should be accessible to a broad audience.
Exhibition Logistics
The Description section should clearly outline what your exhibition will include and how it will be presented.
- Support this section with images of previous work or the proposed work (if available).
- Consider Logan Art Gallery’s spaces:
- Gallery 1 & 2: Highly competitive; preference given to mid-career and established artists, touring exhibitions, or curated group shows.
- Project Space & Foyer: Focus on local artists or projects with specific relevance to Logan.
- Young Peoples Gallery: Encourages projects by young artists or those targeting younger audiences.

- Include sketches or renders to visually communicate your exhibition plans.
- Detail any technical requirements, especially for moving image, sound, or complex installations. While resources are limited, the Gallery is committed to supporting ambitious projects.
- For 2D and 3D works, describe hanging/display methods and consider lighting needs.
- Indicate whether you prefer the Gallery to curate your work or if you have a specific installation plan to be followed.
We strongly encourage all applicants to visit Logan Art Gallery to familiarise themselves with each exhibition space.
