Tyrone Bruinsma – Security Shift
13-14 May, 2025
“Security Shift” is a gripping short horror film, drawing inspiration from Jurassic Park and Alien. It follows a security guard on duty in a seemingly ordinary building – until something mysterious and dangerously lurking in the basement begins to reveal itself.
With the support of KBF, the project came to life, utilizing KBF’s space as the perfect backdrop for its eerie and suspenseful setting.
Forge Factory Impact: Supporting seven artists, including 2 based in Logan. Four artists hail from Southeast Queensland, while another 4 represent broader Queensland.

Alvin Rostant – Sweet Singing Steel

Sweet Singing Steel is a dynamic multimedia showcase of 18 original compositions by Trinidad and Tobago’s celebrated musician, Alvin Rostant. A pannist, vocalist, and award-winning steel pan composer based in Australia, Alvin brings the unique sound of the steelpan to life.
This 1.5-hour performance spans four decades of his work, featuring tracks from “Calypso Mambo” and “Rise,” the PANZfest 2015 Champion arrangement “De Band Coming,” and the reigning Australian Calypso Monarch song “Ah Trini Life.”
This performance was presented by Caribbean Arts Company Created and performed by Alvin Rostant.

Kuweni Dias Mendis
May 23 – July 19, 2025
Riverscope, is a contemporary, place-based multidisciplinary arts project led by artist Kuweni Dias Mendis, that explores themes of belonging, migrant identity, and regeneration. As part of the project, Kuweni will engage with the Logan community from April to July during her residency at the Kingston Butter Factory.
The following series of free public workshops will be delivered between May and June, bookings required:
Workshop 1: Yarning Circle, Connection and Reflection
Drop in between 9 July and 19 July, Tuesday to Saturday between 10am-4pm to see Kuweni creating artwork for her upcoming exhibition at Logan Art Gallery, August – September 2025.

DEAI Music Workshops
15 July – 9 December, 2025
Disability Entertainment Australia Inc. (DEAI) presents its second year of inclusive music workshops at KBF. The workshops offer a welcoming, supportive space where people living with disability can explore instruments, learn new skills, and connect through the joy of music.
DEAI is a prominent Brisbane-based disabilities music company specialising in interactive music workshops for individuals with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions. This workshop series will be run over 6 months focusing on guitar, drums and vocals and is designed to equip participants with fundamental/essential music instrument skills, knowledge and confidence under the guidance of industry professionals.

Hairy Soulman – Love Meteor
July-October 2025
A bold fusion of film and live performance, captured over 14 days in the theatre. The journey culminates in a dynamic, multi-arts theatrical experience on Saturday 25 October, 7 pm.
Floating through space, the interstellar pansexual humanoid Hairy Soul Man hears a cry. The cry of a collective unconsciousness yearning for change. For an awakening. Riding his unstoppable Love Meteor, Hairy Soul Man crashes into earth, sharing ways to better humanity and looking fantastic while doing so.
Come one and all to celebrate the launch of this brand new five-part comedy musical sketch series. With a sneak preview of the first few episodes and a live performance from Hairy Soul Man backed by his salacious live band. Everyone is welcome on the Love Meteor.

Vulcana’s Body Code brings together circus, poetry, research, technology and live music with support from The Brotherhood of the Wordless, Queensland University of Technology, and members of Brisbane’s Deaf and Disabled communities to deliver a different kind of performance.
The latest evolution of Vulcana’s 30-year history of platforming marginalised artists and communities, Body Code represents an accessible, thrilling, and evocative response to the world’s seemingly unstoppable technological stampede.
