Art 101 | Monoprinting with artist Sandra Pearce

Art 101 is Logan Art Gallery’s monthly creative workshop series designed to help you build confidence with core art techniques. This month’s session, create a drypoint printmaking plate with artist Sandra Pearce using recycled tetrapak cartons to explore bird-themed imagery inspired by the exhibition Where do I belong?.

We’ll focus on the urban bird species that have successfully adapted to living amongst us – Magpies, Kookaburras, Bush Turkeys, Curlews and more.

Learn how to create line and tone, apply ink, and add colour using chine collé. You’ll also gain experience using the gallery’s etching press.
