'Sister City' Children's Art Workshop

Create an artwork for the City of Logan–Shibukawa Sister City Children’s Art Exchange Exhibition

Logan Art Gallery is pleased to host fun and creative community art workshop inspired by the theme “Our Town Logan.”

Children are invited to explore what makes Logan special by creating an artwork that reflects our environment, people, stories, and the places that are important to them. Selected artworks will form part of the Sister City Children’s Art Exchange Exhibition between the City of Logan and Shibukawa city, Japan.

All materials are provided. Participants will be introduced to a range of drawing, painting, collage and mixed-media techniques while creating their own artwork.

Up to 60 artworks will be selected for display in Shibukawa, Japan in February 2027.

Who can participate?

• Children in Years 2 to 6

• No prior art experience required

• All materials supplied

What to bring

• A photograph, object, or special item that reminds you of Logan, your community, or a place that is important to you as inspiration

• Creativity and imagination

• Comfortable clothing suitable for artmaking

Every participant will receive a certificate from Logan City Council, and children whose artworks are selected for the exhibition will receive a special gift from Shibukawa, Japan.
