Slow Arts and Crafts Saturdays: From Sketch to Masterpiece

Join the Living Museum of Logan and local artist Andy Siong to bring your art supplies to life and explore drawing essentials!

Do you have art supplies—watercolours, graphite pencils, coloured pencils, oil pastels, or fineliners—that you’ve bought but never used? Join artist Andy Siong for this two-hour workshop to finally put those tools to work! Don’t worry if you don’t have any art supplies, as basic drawing materials will be available for you to use.

​You will explore drawing essentials, ranging from foundational sketching and composition to shading various forms by understanding light and shadow. We will also dive into colouring methods, including mixing and blending, to help you add depth and vibrancy to your work.

​Paper will be provided, so please just bring your preferred media if you have it. By the end of the session, you will apply these techniques to create a charming A5 animal portrait—inspired by your own favourite image or your own imagination—transforming your supplies into a finished work of art. No experience required, just bring your enthusiasm!
