Art 101 | Applique with artist Jillian Beardsworth

Art 101 is Logan Art Gallery’s monthly creative workshop series designed to help you build confidence with core art techniques. This month’s session, create a colourful textile bird with artist Jillian Beardsworth.

Appliqué is ornamental needlework in which pieces or patches of fabric in different shapes and patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or pattern. Inspired by the Where do I belong? exhibition, you will learn fabric collaging and simple stitching to piece together your feathered friend.

No prior experience required. All materials provided.
